Lehigh starts a four-game Patriot League road swing Thursday night as the Mountain Hawks visit Army. Lehigh is off to a 5-0 start in league play, matching last year’s 5-0 mark as the best league start in school history. A win Thursday would put the Mountain Hawks at 6-0 for the first time, while eclipsing last season’s overall win total of 13. Winning at Christl Arena won’t be easy for the Brown and White, as Army has posted a 7-1 record there. The Black Knights have been playing well of late, winning three of their last four contests with the lone setback coming at American in overtime. Army is also looking to snap Lehigh’s three-game winning streak in Jenny Callan and Mary Frances Hynoski each posted double-doubles in the Mountain Hawks triumph over the Bison on Sunday. Callan scored 18 points and pulled down ten boards, while Hynoski, the league’s leading rebounder, added 10 tallies and 13 caroms. The last time Lehigh recorded two double-doubles in the same contest was in a January 15, 2003 win at Bucknell (Jana Ransom 14p, 10r; Anne Tierney 10, 17r). Army enters Thursday night’s contest with a 10-8 overall record and a 3-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Black Knights have won three of their last four games in the league, and they begin a four-game homestand with tonight’s contest. Jen Hansen is the team’s leading scorer at 11.5 points per game, while five time Patriot League Rookie of the Week Cara Enright is contributing 11.3. The Black Knights lead the all-time series between the two schools, winning 17 of the previous 33 meetings. Lehigh has captured the last six regular season meetings, including a 75-68 win at Christl Arena last season. The two teams have met in the opening round of the Patriot League tournament in each of the last three seasons, with Army winning two of those three games.
