Two crews race on Sunday at Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lehigh wrapped up action at the 2009 Head of the Charles on Sunday as a pair of crews raced, including the men’s varsity 8 and the women’s varsity 8. The men finished their race in a time of 16:37.582 which placed Lehigh in 19th, while the women crossed in 18:57.641 and finished 31st.
Lehigh began competition at the Head of the Charles on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks had a pair of boats race including the men’s second varsity 8 and the women’s second varsity 8. The Lehigh men finished in 25th place out of 46 entries, while the women crossed in 32nd place in a race that included 41 crews.
On the men’s side Lehigh finished in a time of 16:33.732. Yale won the event with BMA Boat Club and Northeastern rounding out the top-three. In the women’s race the Mountain Hawks crossed in 19:34.871, while Virginia took the top spot, Yale was second and Alabama placed third.
The Mountain Hawks will take three weeks off before closing out their fall season with a Brown and White Dual on the Lehigh River.
