Mountain Hawks compete at P.L. championship

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – Lehigh began the championship segment of its racing schedule on Sunday morning as the Mountain Hawks competed at the 2010 Patriot League championship on the Cooper River. Lehigh registered six points and finished sixth in the team standings. Bucknell totaled 35 points and won its fifth consecutive league title with Navy placing second followed by Colgate, MIT, Holy Cross and the Mountain Hawks.
In the varsity eight race Lehigh crossed in 7:41.90 to earn three points and in the varsity four event the Mountain Hawks finished in 9:22.10 to earn another three points. Bucknell won the varsity eight with a time of 7:11.60 and Navy crossed in first in the varsity four in 8:16.10. Lehigh did not have a boat compete in the second varsity eight race and MIT and Colgate did not participate in the varsity four event.
Lehigh returns to action on May 6 when the Mountain Hawks begin action at the Dad Vail Regatta, one of the largest regattas in the entire county. The event runs through May 8 in Philadelphia.
