CAMP DESCRIPTION & FEATURES

The Lehigh High Performance Rowing Camp is for rowers and coxswains of all experience levels, ages 15-18. Both boys and girls will experience a curriculum designed to advance each camper's technical skills and racing abilities through highly individualized instruction. Campers will have two 2 hour sessions on-the-water rows, as well as 90 minutes  of erg instruction. Coach's will also provide discussions and instruction on topics of core strength, college recruiting process, and coxswain development. Our experienced coaching staff will facilitate a fun and challenging environment to teach all campers how to become faster rowers.

WHY LEARN TO ROW?

Besides being a lot of fun, rowing is one of the fastest growing sports in America.  Most Colleges and Universities have rowing teams, and most college and Olympic rowers start as college freshman.  This camp will give you a head start going in to college no matter what your current experience level. Rowing also looks great on a resume and on a college application.  All of the elite schools in America (i.e.: Lehigh, Harvard, Stanford, Cal, Yale, Williams, etc.) recruit rowers heavily.  Rowing is a non-impact sport, and the best workout there is.  It is a sport you can do for life and many do!.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Rowers should come prepared for weather and with plenty of water, sun screen, etc.
  • We will row in rain.  In the case of flooding or thunder and lightning the rowers will have an indoor training and technique day.
  • Safety is our number one concern.  If for any reason the staff feels that the crews should not go out, there will be other rowing related activities at the boathouse.
  • Lehigh Rowing reserves the right to suspend (without refund) any rower caught with drugs or alcohol, behaving improperly, or being disrespectful to coaches or other rowers.  This is simply for the safety of the coaches and other rowers.
  • Each rower will receive a Lehigh Crew t-shirt.
  • Rowers will not be permitted to work out if they have not completed the necessary medical forms and waiver.
  • Lehigh Crew reserves the right to cancel any session which is under enrolled, and will give a complete refund for that session
  • Parents are responsible for letting the coaches know of any medical condition a rower has which may affect his or her ability to participate.
  • Campers will only be released to authorized adults.
