What They Said
"Bittersweet day on the Housatonic River as my last race here as a senior," said senior Adelaide Weir. "Super proud of our first-year coxswain Leena and loved her gritty calls. Looking forward to continuing to find speed in this lineup going into next weekend at the Charles!"
"Such an amazing first race with Lehigh," said first-year Leena Hafeez. "Coxing the 1V as a first-year has been such a privilege and there's truly nothing better than the infectious energy of the team on race day. It's such a remarkable feeling knowing that everyone has each other's back no matter what. Watching my teammates medal and have so much fun racing reminds me of how special the sport of rowing is. I look forward to carrying this energy and cultivating this team culture at the Charles this weekend!"
"Head of the Housatonic is one my favorite races and this year didn't disappoint," said senior Meghan Hastings. "Lesker threw down a super gritty race and Bella and I were able to chase speed in the double. Can't wait to see what the team can do going into next weekend. Fly Hawks!"
"Overall, I thought today was a great opportunity for us to compete with some great crews," said first-year Fischer Stevens. "Today we learned a lot from both of our races and I'm looking forward to improving and getting faster as the season progresses."
"We had a good performance from the guys," said senior Colby Brogan. "Coming off a few weeks of intense training, I thought we were able to put it to the test against some fast crews. We're looking to get faster and carry this momentum into the Charles next week."
"I thought the 2V put together a very complete effort at the Housatonic," said sophomore Joseph LaFond. "I'm fortunate to be around an amazing group of guys. Super happy with our team's continued motivation to improve throughout fall racing. I'm looking forward to supporting the crew at the Charles in Boston this upcoming weekend."
