Mountain Hawks grab top spot in preseason poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa.-The Patriot League announced their preseason soccer poll Tuesday, with the Mountain Hawks receiving 95 total points, and eleven of 16 first place votes. Bucknell finished in second, receiving 83 points, and four first place votes.
Lehigh is looking to make it back to back regular season titles, as it went a perfect 7-0 in Patriot League play last season, and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
“We don't feel any more or less pressure to live up to these expectations,” said coach Dean Koski. “Our goal is to make the playoffs and win a Patriot League Championship, whether we are ranked first or last.”
Also on Tuesday, SoccerTimes.com released its top 25 preseason poll, with Lehigh checking in at No. 25. The Mountain Hawks are the only Patriot League school ranked in this poll.
The Brown and White are also nationally ranked in two other preseason polls. The Mountain Hawks are No. 16 in the College Soccer News Top 30 and No. 19 in the NSCAA/Adidas Top 25.
