Lehigh downs Syracuse in preseason opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh opened its preseason schedule on Saturday evening with a convincing 3-1victory over Big East foe Syracuse at the Kaufman practice fields. Sophomore Adam Gazda netted two goals in the victory while newcomer Jim Taranto found the back of the net once.
Head coach Dean Koski, who was able to play everyone, was pleased with the result. “Overall just a very strong effort in our preseason opener. It was great to get everyone in and give them a look. Now we will just go back to camp and work on the things we need to.”
Lehigh will resume preseason training on Sunday with an eye towards Saturday, August 26 when the Mountain Hawks welcome FDU to the Ulrich Sports Complex in the season opener. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 and all of the action can be heard live on lehighsports.com.
