Williamson drafted by New England of the MLS

“Obviously we’re very pleased and excited for Adam,” explained head coach Dean Koski, who just completed his 14th season at the helm. “To get drafted by the MLS is a tremendous accomplishment after seeing just how hard Adam has worked during his time at Lehigh. This presents an entirely new challenge to him now. Our hope is for him to at the least, make a developmental roster in the MLS and see where he can go from there.”
Williamson joined Evan Bruno (’00 and ’02) and Mittendorf (’97 and ’98) as the only other Mountain Hawks in school history to be honored as the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Year following an outstanding senior season. The accounting major also became just the third Lehigh player since 1986, along with Kyle Boschen (’89, ‘91) and Bruno (’01, ’02) to be named a First-Team All Mid-Atlantic Region selection twice in his career. For his career, Williamson netted 12 goals, handed out 15 assists, and totaled 39 points. He is a two-time All-League selection, and was a First-Team All-Region pick in 2004. Recently Williamson added another line to his soccer resume, as he was named the South Jersey College Player of the Year by the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association.
Williamson spoke about the selection on Thursday. “I really can’t put it into words, about how I’m feeling right now. Everyone when they are growing up works for something like this, to one day become a professional athlete. This is just a dream come true and I’m ecstatic.”
