Former Lehigh standouts
Steve Fisher and former All-American Evan Bruno have been named to the Pro Soccer League Team of the Week for their outstanding work on the pitch over the past seven days.
Fisher, a member of the Harrisburg City Islanders, scored the game-winning goal for his team versus
Pittsburgh on May 8, before a standing room only crowd at Skyline Sports Complex. That same day, Bruno, a member of the Long Island Roughriders, put in a goal of his own in his team’s match versus New Hampshire in just the second minute as he intercepted a pass and found the back of the net for the score.
For Fisher and his Harrisburg City teammates, it marked the third consecutive week that a member of the Islanders was named to the Team of the Week in this the first season of the team’s existence. Earlier this year, Fisher scored the first goal in the franchise’s history versus the Northern Virginia Royals on April 17. Fisher and the Islanders will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Riverhounds, with that match getting underway at 7:30. Bruno and the Roughriders will also get back at it on Saturday when they take to the road versus the Westchester Flames, beginning at 5:30.
