The Mountain Hawks have faced the Colonials four times in school history, with the most recent meeting coming in a three-game series last season. The Mountain Hawks went 1-2 last year against George Washington, and they lost the only other previous meeting in 1986, to put the overall series at 1-3 all time.
Last season, Lehigh emerged from a pitchers’ duel in game one of the series with a 2-1 victory. But the Colonials came back in games two and three, outscoring the Mountain Hawks 18-5 over the final two games of the series.
“They’re pitching was pretty strong last year, and they’re returning almost everyone,” Leary said. “This should be a good challenge for our hitters. We always set up the schedule this way to prepare us for Patriot League play.”
