BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s soccer senior Jesse Schram not only got it done on the pitch in 2009, but also in the classroom. The midfielder was named to the Scholar All-East Region second team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The NSCAA’s list includes 65 players from various schools around the East Region and this marks the second consecutive year Schram earned Scholar All-Region recognition (honorable mention 2008).
Schram is coming off his final season wearing the Brown and White where he excelled on the field and earned Second Team All-League honors. The Durham, N.H., native finished the season with two goals, two assists and was one of five Mountain Hawks to start all 17 games. Schram is a two-time All-League honoree after making the second team in 2007.
Schram helped Lehigh finish the season with a 9-5-3 overall record and advance to the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2006.
In the classroom, Schram has an even more impressive resume. He has been on the Lehigh Academic Honor Roll in all of his first six semesters and the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as well. Schram was named the men’s soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2009. As a psychology major he boasts a 3.68 GPA and will look to attend graduate school after finishing up at Lehigh.
