Nydell named PL Goalkeeper of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The accolades keep piling up for the Lehigh men’s soccer team as junior Jonathan Nydell was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. This marks the fourth week during the season that at least one Mountain Hawk has been recognized by the league. Nydell helped Lehigh earn a 0-0 tie with first place American on Saturday.
Nydell made seven saves in the tie with the Eagles, including one in the first overtime period. He was backstopped by a strong defensive effort from his team that included four team saves to help him get his third shutout of the season. With the tie Nydell’s record now stands at 7-5-3 on the season.
Lehigh (7-5-3, 2-2-1) is currently in fourth place in the Patriot League standings with seven points and the Brown and White will qualify for the Patriot League Tournament with wins in its final two games.
The Mountain Hawks return to the Ulrich Sports Complex this Friday night for their final home game of the season at 7 p.m. against Army.
