Lehigh wraps up final day at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh participated in the final day of the Penn Relays on Saturday. The women’s 4x800 meter relay team of Jillian Randolph, Shannon Alejandro, Jennifer Therkorn and Sarah Serwo, pulled in the top performance of the day, with a fifth place finish. Their time of 9:02.84 was less than three seconds off the all-time mark.

In men’s field events, Mark Mattei finished 20th in the hammer throw with a distance of 48.86 meters. James Pachucki earned an 18th place showing in the javelin throw, throwing 51.61 meters.

Lehigh will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Annapolis, Md. for the 2008 Patriot League Outdoor Championships.
