Mountain Hawks host Lehigh Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh hosted its only outdoor meet of the season on Saturday, at the unscored Lehigh Games.  The men's steeplechase featured the closest finish of the day, as Jordan Inacio won in 9:40.55, while Jon Wetzel was second with a time of 9:40.56.  The Brown and White had a total of six first place finishes on the day.

 

In the women’s 100 meter dash, Lindsey Corbetta earned a second place finish with a time of 12.78 seconds.  Theresa Fromm also picked up a second place finish, running the 100 meter hurdles in 15.32 seconds.  Katie McClernand came in second place in the steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 11:41.68.   The women’s 4x100 meter relay team of Rachel Stewart, Allison Grese, Cassandra Hartnett and Latasha Watson won their race, with a time of 49.19 seconds.  

 

In women’s field events, Kelsey Lind earned a first place finish in the triple jump, jumping 10.84 meters.  Ashlee Atwell picked up a third place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.35 meters.  Emily Settle had a second place finish in the hammer throw, with a distance of 47.74 meters.

 

On the men’s side, Dan McClimon won the 1,500 meter run, crossing the finish line in 3:59.79.  Joseph Kelly was not far behind him, with a third place time of 4:01.78.  Scott Robinson cruised to a first place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a winning time of 53.46 seconds. 

 

In men’s field events, Brian Voorhis claimed first place in the long jump, with a distance of 6.42 meters, while Dominic Aversa was second in the pole vault, clearing 4.50 meters.

 

The Mountain Hawks return to the track next weekend when they travel to Annapolis, Md. for the 2008 Patriot League Outdoor Championships.
