BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh hosted the two-day ECAC Championships this past weekend with play both inside the Lewis Tennis Center and outside on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The Mountain Hawks placed fourth in the ten team event, with freshman Troy List earning a silver medal at flight B singles, to lead the way for Lehigh.

List earned a pair of wins to reach the finals at flight B singles, defeating Calvin Chou of NYU 6-3, 7-6 in the first round and John Nogueras of Colgate 7-6, 7-5 in the semifinals. In the finals, List was beaten by Nolan Greenberg of Delaware in straight sets.

The Bolcar brothers played flight C and D singles for Lehigh, with each brother earning a first round win, before losing in the semifinals. John Bolcar beat Jamie Russo of Loyola 6-3, 6-1 before losing to Phil Bernasek of Colgate at flight C, while Robbie Bolcar won 6-4, 6-2 over Rob Mattison of Loyola, before bowing out to Chip Palumbo of Fairfield.

Senior captain John Nespoli represented the Mountain Hawks at flight A singles, but lost his first round match to Austin Longacre of Delaware. In doubles play, senior Brent Herbert and junior Andrew Balshi went 0-1, losing to Doug Alban and Dan D’Agostino of Loyola.

Delaware and Fairfield shared the team title with 15 points apiece. Colgate finished third with 12 points, and then the Mountain Hawks finished with nine.

The Mountain Hawks will continue the fall season when they host the Lehigh Tennis Invitational on October 13 and 14.
