Lehigh races at Penn Relays, Lehigh Games

At Penn Relays, Johnson placed sixth in the Eastern section of the triple jump with a leap of 46’11”. Lehigh’s 4x800 meter relay team of seniors Brian Ahearn and Kevin Ahearn, junior Kyle Manning and sophomore Garrett Zambrows narrowly qualified for the IC4A meet with a time of 7:43.57—.03 of a second faster than the IC4A standard.
On the women’s side at the Lehigh games, the Mountain Hawks placed 1-2 in two events. Sophomore Caitlyn Kennedy won the 5000 meter run in a time of 19:16.70, while freshman Hana Baskin took second in the event. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, freshman Dana Stellar won the event in a time of 12:00.44 with sophomore Katie McClernand finishing five seconds behind in second place. The women also had top five finishes in five individual events, including the 800 and 1500 meter runs, high jump, pole vault and long jump.
Freshman Matthew Sheridan was the only Mountain Hawk on the men’s team to win an event.

Lehigh’s men’s and women’s track and field teams return to action next weekend when they compete in the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday. The meet will be held on the Goodman Campus with Friday’s events starting at 1:00 pm and Saturday’s starting at 9:00 am.
