O'Reilly named PL Defensive Player of the Week

O’Reilly’s two goals against Navy came as a result of two fouls by the Midshipmen. The first foul, occurring in the box, set the senior back up for his second penalty kick of the season and gave Lehigh a 1-0 lead. The second foul occurred in the 102nd minute of the double-overtime match. O’Reilly had a free-direct kick about 21 yards out that found its way past Navy goalkeeper Evan Barnes to give Lehigh the 2-1 victory.

With Patriot League play starting this past weekend, Lehigh and O’Reilly had top numbers against a league opponent. As a team, the Mountain Hawks had a league high 19 shots and two goals. Only Bucknell was able to put up two goals against a Patriot League opponent. O’Reilly was the only player to score multiple times against league opposition.
Lehigh will look for road win number two and to extend its unbeaten streak to six games on Wednesday afternoon when the Mountain Hawks travel to George Washington. The game is set for a 3:00 start.
