BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh right fielder Nick Bet went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs driven in as Lehigh stopped its five-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over Temple on Tuesday afternoon at Lehigh’s baseball field on Goodman Campus.  With the victory, the Mountain Hawks (9-15) earn their second home win of the season.  The Owls are now 6-15 with the loss.

Lehigh ace Kyle Collina pitched four shutout innings, striking out four, to earn his third win of the season.  Freshman Geoff Campbell pitched 2.2 shutout innings to notch his second save.

At the plate, the Mountain Hawks got on the board in the second inning when second baseman Mike Sandonato ripped his second home run of the season – a solo shot to left – to put the Brown and White up 1-0.

Leading five-one in the fifth, Bet ripped a two-run double to left, plating a pair of runs and giving the Mountain Hawks a 7-1 advantage.

The Owls scored three times in the seventh, but Campbell shut the door and preserved the win.

Lehigh scored 7 runs on eleven hits, but the Mountain Hawks stranded 12 runners on base.

Lehigh wraps up its nine-game home stand on Thursday, when Lehigh hosts cross-town rival Moravian.  First pitch is set for 3:00 pm from the baseball field on Goodman Campus.
