Evans named to All-Rookie Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Before the season even started, Kyle Evans was targeted as one of the top 100 freshmen to keep an eye on throughout the season by College Soccer News. Throughout the season, Evans has emerged as one of the Mountain Hawks’ playmakers, racking up a Rookie of the Week honor and an honorable mention from the Patriot League. Now, Evans has been selected as one of ten forwards to be named to the First-Team of the Top Drawer Soccer All-Rookie Team.

Evans currently leads the team in assists with six, just one shy of the single season mark of most assists by a freshman which was set by Doug Cusick in 2000. The Seaville, N.J. native has three goals and is tied for third with senior John O’Reilly in points with 12. Out of his three goals, two were back-to-back game-winners against Holy Cross and American.

Evans and the Mountain Hawks resume play next Wednesday in the second-round of the NCAA Tournament when they host the winner of the Rhode Island-Rutgers game. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
