Hessemer earns second recognition of the week

The junior co-captain out of Scotch-Plains, N.J. earned the honor by recording four blocked shots against
Hessemer’s honor adds onto the growing list of awards the Mountain Hawks have received already this season. The team, ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, just received votes in the College Soccer News Top 30 poll. Lehigh is nationally ranked in multiple team categories, including No. 2 in team goals against average (0.39) and shutout percentage (0.7), No. 4 in won-lost-tied percentage (0.85) and No. 5 in save percentage (0.889). Among the Patriot League’s weekly awards, the Mountain Hawks have received three Defensive Player of the Week honors, two Goalkeeper of the Week honors, two honorable mentions and one Rookie of the Week recognition. Additionally, senior Joe Verdi was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on September 11.
