Lehigh earns three PL weekly awards

After only starting one game in 2005, Hessemer has started in all 10 games and become a key component to Lehigh’s stringent defense. In the team’s only game against American last week, Hessemer recorded four blocked shots. The
Morahan remained the league’s shutout leader as he recorded his seventh shutout of the season. The
Evans was a key player in the game against American as he recorded the game’s first goal and assisted on the second and fourth goals. Evans’ game-winning goal, the second of the season, came after junior Robert Quinlan fed the ball to the top of the 18. A quick cut allowed Evans to take his shot, which was initially blocked by American’s goalkeeper, Chris Sedlak, but rolled into the net. The Seaville, N.J. native leads the Mountain Hawks in assists with four and points with 10. Among the league’s freshmen statistical leaders, Evans ranks in points, points per game, assists, assists per game and game-winning goals. His four assists are tied for second in the league’s overall standings, while his 0.40 assist per game total is third. Among just the league competition, Evans tops the lists in assists, assists per game and game-winning goals.
Lehigh will return to action on Wednesday night for its first of four mid-week games it will play in October. The Mountain Hawks will host the Villanova Wildcats at 7:00 pm at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The game will be broadcast live on lehighsports.com with audio and video streaming provided by Yahoo!
