Hessemer honored by Metrostars for play during summer

Hessemer has seen time in all 11 games this season, making one start along the way. He has contributed to a defense that has allowed only seven goals all year, good for a 0.62 goals against average. Last season, the engineering major played in all 21 games for the Brown and White, starting six of them. He was a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and went onto play for the Metrostars U-19 team in the summer.
Head Coach Dean Koski offers his thoughts on Hessemer’s award. “Being distinguished as a Player of the Year for Mike's club team, the MetroStars, comes as no surprise. Having had the opportunity to see Mike compete this summer in the regional championships and seeing his development from last year to this year, the honor is well deserved.”
Koski continues, “Mike works hard every day at getting better and his out of season commitment to playing at the highest club level will only make him even better.”
Hessemer and Lehigh, ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, return to action on Saturday evening, when the Mountain Hawks travel to Lewisburg to take on Bucknell. Game time is slated for 7:00.
