Starsinic named Rookie of the Week

Bethlehem, PA – Freshman Patrick Starsinic has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after scoring two goals in Lehigh’s first three games this season. Starsinic found the back of the net for the first time in his collegiate career just 1:21 into the Mountain Hawks season opener against Cornell on September 3. Lehigh would go on to win the macth 2-1 in double overtime. Starsinic then followed up that performance with another tally in Lehigh’s 5-0 shutout of Rider on Sunday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex.

"This is a nice honor for Patrick and also for the team as a whole. Patrick's success is well deserved and indicative of what the team has been able to do thus far this year," explained head coach Dean Koski.

Starsinic is tied for the team lead in goals and in points and is second on the squad with seven shots thus far this season. Lehigh returns to action this Friday evening when the Mountain Hawks host the Lehigh Nike Tournament at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The first game of the evening features Lafayette and St. Joseph’s at 5:00, while the Mountain Hawks take the field at 7:30 versus Jacksonville, who they’ve never faced before.
