Philadelphia, PASt. Joseph’s broke open a close game in the second half to defeat Lehigh Tuesday night by a final of 9-3. Senior Emily Studdiford did her best to keep the Mountain Hawks in it, but a second half burst put the game away for the homestanding Hawks.

Studdiford got Lehigh on the board first, scoring 15 minutes into what would be a low scoring first half. St. Joe’s would respond with two unanswered goals by Kristen Teklinsky, before Studdiford scored again to send the game into halftime tied 2-2.

The second half started with tallies by both teams before momentum began to shift in favor of the Hawks. Over the next six minutes, Saint Joseph's scored four unanswered goals by four different players and the score became 7-3, and would eventually add two more to reach the final score.

Studdiford carried the Mountain Hawks with three goals, while Kyle Begina made 15 saves in the goal.

Kristen Teklinsky tallied four goals for the Hawks, while junior Shannon Scott found the net three times. The win improves the Hawks record to 6-3, while Lehigh dropped to 5-9. Lehigh finishes the season on Saturday as they take on Bucknell in a Patriot League battle in Lewisburg.

The action is set to begin at 1:00pm.
