Davis, CA – Lehigh opened its 2004 spring break trip with a tough 15-4 loss to UC Davis on Tuesday afternoon. Lehigh received one goal each from four separate players in the contest, while seven different Aggies scored for UC-Davis.  In goal for the Brown and White, Kyle Begina stopped ten shots and Vanessa Abbott sent back three.

Freshman Katie McMahon and senior Kelly Albin each posted seven total points as  UC Davis broke loose for a 6-0 run to start the game, including goals by Jessie Donohoue, McMahon and Megan O'Connor within the first two minutes of play. Lehigh scored back-to-back free-position goals by Amy Chamberlain and Vienna Pharaon in the middle of the first half to cut the score to 6-2, but McMahon completed her hat trick at the 20:36 mark to send the Aggies into halftime with a 7-2 advantage.

The Mountain Hawks managed second-half goals by Ella Studdiford and Jen Fleming - again on free-position opportunities - but UC Davis piled up eight more goals on 19 shots after the break. Senior Leslie Kado added two goals and three assists for the Aggies, while Donohoue finished with a 2-1-3 line. Goalkeeper Kristen Braasch faced only seven Lehigh shots, stopping three.

Defensively, Albin, O'Connor and Jen Sanderson each had two of the total of nine caused turnovers for UC Davis. The Mountain Hawks failed on more than half of their clear attempts, successfully navigating the field in just 10 of 21 tries. In contrast, the Aggies were successful on 12 of 13 clear attempts.
