Bethlehem, PA - Lehigh learned that it was not invited to participate in the 2004 NCAA Tournament on Monday. The Mountain Hawks had hoped to receive an at-large bid as they did in 2002, when the Brown and White earned a first round home match versus Northeastern. 48 teams were invited into the postseason field, including Patriot League foe American, which defeated the Mountain Hawks by a 1-0 count in overtime on Sunday afternoon. Despite being left out of the tournament, Lehigh completed yet another winning season – the Mountain Hawks ninth in a row – which is both a school and Patriot League record with a mark of 12-7-2 .
