Bethlehem, PA - Lehigh ran, threw and jumped its way to a sweep of the John Covert Classic on Saturday afternoon at Rauch Fieldhouse.  The men came in first place with a score of 220 and the women accumulated 203 points on their way to the win.  Other schools that competed included Rider, Sacred Heart, Temple, Delaware, Towson and Wagner.

On the men's side, senior Francis Vincent once again dominated the field events, winning both the long jump with a leap of 7.02 meters and the triple jump with a bound of 14.38 meters.  Vincent has placed in the top-ten in both of these events at every meet this season.  Speedsters George Evans and Lavar Pope raced their way to a one-two finish in the 60-meter dash.  Evans crossed the line in a time of 6.93, while Pope was right on his tail, finishing in 6.95.  Sophomore Rob Hampson took first in the 5000 meter run, finishing in a time of 15:07.84 and Jesse Ohm vaulted to a title in the pole vault, clearing 15 feet.

In the women's competition, reigning Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week Lindsay Hinsch continued to impress, winning the triple jump (11.28 meters) and the long jump (5.55 meters).  Khayla Lowe came in second place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.27 and junior Andrea Luebbe blew away the competition, winning the one-mile run in a time of 5:14.89.  Katherine Hessler cleared 5'5" in the high jump to edge out teammate Katie Dukatz, who had a leap of 5'4".

Lehigh will be back in action on February 7, when the Mountain Hawks travel to take part in the two-day Delaware Invitational.
