Mountain Hawks ready for big showdown

Bethlehem, PA – After a week of mid-term exams and no games, Lehigh returns to action on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Washington, D.C. to take on American in a pivotal Patriot League showdown. Game time is set for 1:00. Lehigh, 6-1-2 overall, and 0-0-1 in the Patriot League is ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic region and coming off of a 0-0 tie in double overtime against Holy Cross up in Worcester, MA on September 27. The shutout was Lehigh’s seventh of the season, which puts them second in the nation with a .78 shutout percentage. The Mountain Hawks are also third in the NCAA with a .31 goals against average and lead the Patriot League in both categories. Junior goalkeeper Sam Bishop ranks fifth in the nation with a .31 goals against average. Lehigh is led on offense by senior Steve Fisher with four goals and junior Dustin Monahan with three assists.
The Eagles (3-5-0, 0-1) are coming off a tough 1-0 loss in Annapolis, MD against Patriot League member Navy on Tuesday. Junior Peter Philipakos leads American in scoring with four goals and ten points on the season.
