Erin Goodman joined the Mountain Hawks staff for the 2009-10 academic year.  Goodman recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame where she was a three-year starter at goalkeeper.  “(Assistant coach) Kelley (Putnam) and I welcome Erin Goodman to our staff with great enthusiasm,” Lehigh head coach Jill Redfern commented.  “She is the type of student-athlete we believe to be an exemplary role model having excelled in the classroom in an academically challenging environment and also on the field for a highly regarded Division I program.  Erin’s goalkeeping expertise will provide another strong step forward in our player development.  We expect her presence to have an immediate impact on our team.”

As a member of the Fighting Irish program, Goodman helped lead Notre Dame to its first Final Four in school history in 2006, as well as its first Big East Championship this past season.  Goodman was voted the Big East Tournament MVP in 2009 and garnered a spot on the All-Tournament Team.  In March of 2009 she was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week, while in March of 2008 she earned an Honor Roll mention from the conference.  Goodman also set the Big East record for fewest goals allowed in a single game with one versus Loyola in March of 2007.  Following her senior season Goodman was voted to play in the 2009 IWLCA/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game.  She concluded her Fighting Irish career with career records in: games played (59), wins (39), and minutes played (3,366:18), and she finished second all-time in saves (477) and third in goals-against-average (10.61).

In addition to her success on the lacrosse field, Goodman has been involved with the Board of Cooperative Education Services where she has served as a teacher’s aide during the school year. She has also worked at numerous lacrosse camps and spent time volunteering at a local homeless shelter and hospital.  Goodman will serve as a voluntary coach while taking graduate classes at Lehigh.
