Joe Zelechoski, '73/'78, begins his fourth season as an assistant men's golf coach at Lehigh. “Coach Z” came to Lehigh in 2005 as a volunteer coach and moved to assistant in 2006. Joe is a left-handed 8 handicap who has been playing golf since he was in fourth grade. He has played over 370 different courses. Some of his favorites are The Old Course at Saint Andrews,
Zelechoski feels that the Lehigh Men's golf program is attracting better and better student-athletes each year. "Lehigh offers both an excellent educational opportunity, but also a very competitive golf environment competing at the Division I level. At this level, the ability to score with the short game and good course management is so much more important than hitting it a mile. These are some of the important areas of the game that Head Coach Henry D'Alberto stresses." Coach Z very much enjoys sharing the Lehigh golf experience with the team.
Professionally, he is Director of Supply Chain at PPL Corporation. In his spare time, Zelechoski enjoys traveling with his wife, Barbara, visiting his two grown sons, Kevin and Steven, and spending time with his white collie, Nicklaus.
