Lehigh Completes Spring-Opening Tournament in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Lehigh men's golf team completed its first spring event Sunday with the final round of the Savannah Intercollegiate at the Club at Savannah Harbor. The Mountain Hawks closed out the suspended second round with a 297 and then shot 318 Sunday to finish the 54-hole event at 913 (298-297-318). Lehigh finished 14th in an 18-team field.

First-year Ryan Cronin was the low Mountain Hawk on the weekend, tying for 28th place at 225 (72-74-79). Cronin carded two birdies in his final round.

The low Lehigh round on Sunday was a 78, turned in by first-year Drew Golden. The 78 included three birdies as Golden tied for 86th place at 238 (80-80-78).

Senior Jake Roth was Lehigh's second-lowest player on the weekend, tying for 49th place at 229 (75-73-81). Roth's final round included one birdie.

One stroke behind Roth was junior Matthew Quinn, who tied for 55th place at 230 (77-73-80). Quinn's final round also included one birdie.

Sophomore Noah Zyung shot 233 (74-77-82) and tied for 63rd place.

West Georgia claimed the team title at 888 (297-292-299), defeating second place Iona by two strokes.

The low individuals were West Georgia's Milton Wallin and Longwood's Hunter Swidzinski at one under par 215.

The Mountain Hawks are back in action at the East Carolina Intercollegiate, March 16-17 in Greenville, N.C.
