
Cronin Ties For Medalist Honors at Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – First-year Ryan Cronin tied for medalist honors to lead the Lehigh men's golf team at the Lehigh Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. Playing for Lehigh's B team, Cronin shot three under par 69 on Sunday to finish the tournament at two under par 142 (73-69). Cronin tied for first place with FDU's Pietro Piccoli and Jamison Ousley of Evansville.
The play of Cronin and first-year Drew Golden, who tied for fourth, lifted the B team to a fifth place finish in the 12-team event. The B team shot 305 and 297 to finish at 602. Lehigh's A team shot 615 (305-310) and finished in sixth place.
Cronin started hot on Sunday making birdie on four of his first six holes. He was two under par through seven holes and made one more birdie plus 10 pars on his remaining holes. Ousley bogeyed the 18th hole and then Piccoli settled for par, forcing the three-way tie.
Golden finished five strokes behind the tri-medalists at three over par 147. After a 74 on Saturday, Golden shot 73 on Sunday with four birdies on the day.
Senior Jake Roth and junior Charles Schrohe led the A team tying for 17th place at 152. Roth went 72-80 with one birdie in his final round, while Schrohe shot 77-75 with one birdie on Sunday.
Junior Matthew Quinn (B) and senior Aiden LeBlanc (A) were part of a tie for 24th place at 153, with both players shooting 78 and then 75. Quinn carded three birdies on Sunday, while LeBlanc made two.
Playing for the A team, senior Will Caronchi shot 159 (79-80) and tied for 41st place. Caronchi's final round featured one birdie.
Sophomore Noah Zyung carded consecutive rounds of 80 for the B team and tied for 44th place at 160.
Tying for 47th place was senior Paulius Malcius at 161 (78-83). Malcius played for the A team and made two birdies Sunday.
Sophomore Luke Block shot 163 (80-83) and tied for 49th place.
Evansville won the team title at 594 (290-304). The Purple Aces defeated FDU and Lafayette by three strokes.
The Lehigh Invitational marked the final fall tournament for the Mountain Hawks, who will begin their spring campaign in late February at the Savannah Intercollegiate.
