Lehigh Moves Up Leaderboard on Day Two at ECU Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Lehigh men's golf team moved up the leaderboard Monday, shooting 297, a seven stroke improvement from Sunday, in round two of the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Country Club. Senior Jake Roth led the way, shooting two under par 70 as Lehigh moved into a tie for seventh place out of 15 teams at 601 (304-297).

Roth carded five birdies for the second consecutive day, shooting 70 to move into a tie for fourth place at even par 144 (74-70).

First-years Drew Golden and Ryan Cronin are tied for 39th place at 152. Cronin shot 78 with one birdie Monday while Golden shot 75 with four birdies.

Junior Matthew Quinn carded four birdies and shot two over par 74 to move into a tie for 43rd place at 153 (79-74).

Sophomore Noah Zyung improved nine strokes from an 87 to a 78 and sits in 80th place at 165. Zyung's second round included two birdies.

Competing as an individual, senior Will Caronchi improved 10 strokes from an 85 to a 75 and is tied for 71st place. Caronchi made three birdies Monday.

UNC Wilmington continues to lead the team race at 573, 10 strokes better than host East Carolina. The Seahawks also have the individual leader, Gray Mitchum at six under par 138.

The ECU Intercollegiate concludes Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes.
