Roth Posts Top 15 Finish, Lehigh Seventh at ECU Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Lehigh men's golf team finished seventh out of 15 teams in the three-day ECU Intercollegiate, which wrapped up Tuesday at Brook Valley Country Club. Senior Jake Roth tied for 14th place to lead the Mountain Hawks, who shot 312 Tuesday to finish the 54-hole event at 913 (304-297-312).

Roth finished at six over par 222 (74-70-78), making 14 pars in Tuesday's final round. His second round 70 was the low round of the tournament for Lehigh.

First-year Drew Golden led Lehigh with a 76 Tuesday, moving up to 34th place at 228 (77-75-76). Golden carded three birdies in his final round.

Lehigh's No. 3 finisher was first-year Drew Cronin, who tied for 40th place at 230 (74-78-78). Cronin's final round included one birdie.

Junior Matthew Quinn shot 81 Tuesday and tied for 55th place at 234 (79-74-81). Quinn made a pair of birdies on the back nine Tuesday.

Lehigh's individual, senior Will Caronchi, tied for 75th place at 244 (85-75-84), with one final round birdie.

One stroke behind Caronchi was sophomore Noah Zyung at 245 (87-78-80). Zyung tied for 77th with two birdies in his final round.

UNC Wilmington led wire-to-wire to take the team title at 868, 10 strokes better than runner-up and host East Carolina.

The Seahawks also had the individual medalist in Gray Mitchum at three under par 213.

The Mountain Hawks will return to North Carolina for Appalachian State's Irish Creek Collegiate, April 6-7 in Kannapolis, N.C.
