Lehigh women’s lacrosse senior feature: creating a legacy

WHY LEHIGH? “I chose Lehigh because of the combination of academics and athletics. I thought Lehigh would offer a great business education and I would be able to play lacrosse at a competitive level in a Division I program.”

ON BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LEHIGH: “Being part of the Lehigh student-athlete experience means that I get a great education and at the same time, I can participate in sports and be part of a great team.”

AS A SENIOR (2011): Wrapped up sensational collegiate career with her best statistical season … Posted a career-high and Patriot League leading 86 points, good for fifth in the nation … Point per game total (5.06) was second in the country … Also scored 72 goals and came in first nationally in goals per game (4.24) … Added 14 assists, one shy of a career high … Added 33 groundballs, 33 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers as one of the Mountain Hawks’ top defensive players as well … One of only eight Lehigh players to start all 17 games … Recorded multiple points in all 17 games and multiple goals in 16 of them … Posted 14 hat tricks on the season to up her final career total to 49 … Wrapped up career with a Lehigh and Patriot League record 257 career goals, which stands sixth most in NCAA history … Posted a point in all 69 career games, scoring a goal in 68 of them … Ended her career riding an impressive 49-game goal streak.

SUMMER, 2010: For a second straight summer, advanced to the second round of tryouts for the United States women’s developmental team.

AS A JUNIOR (2010): First Team All-Patriot League selection … Named a Second Team All-American by womenslacrosse.com … First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region Selection … Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year … Started all 18 games … Scored at least one goal in every game, multiple goals in all games but two … Led the team with 54 goals and 62 points … Dished out eight assists on the season … Scooped up 47 groundballs and added 38 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers … First in Patriot League with 21 free position goals … Ranked second in the Patriot League in goals per game (3), ground balls per game (2.61) and shots per game (7.11) … Ranked fourth in the Patriot League in points per game with 3.44.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2009): First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection … 2009 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year … First Team All-Patriot League selection … Started all 17 games … Ranked among the nation’s leaders with 67 goals and 75 points … Her 67 goals were the third most in single-season history … Led the country with 82 groundballs … Scored six or more goals in three games … Led Lehigh in nine statistical categories … Named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week four times … Also totaled 41 draw controls and 27 caused turnovers.

AS A FRESHMAN (2008): Patriot League Rookie of the Year … First Team All-Patriot League selection … Patriot League All-Tournament Team … Five-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week (tied for most ever) … Scored a Lehigh freshmen record 64 goals (most goals by any Lehigh player since 1995) … Scored a goal in every game, including three or more goals in 13 games … Netted a season-best eight goals in win over archrival Lafayette … Added 45 groundballs and 32 draw controls … Season-best eight groundballs came versus Canisius … Finished second in the Patriot League in goals and goals per game and fourth in points.
