Mountain Hawks Drop Game One Of Weekend Series Vs. Army

Army (16-14, 7-6 PL) starting pitcher Andrew Berg earned the win after going 6.2 innings despite allowing 11 hits and five earned runs. Lehigh (8-22, 3-10 PL) starter Jake Mulvehill was tagged for the loss after conceding the lead in the top of the second inning.
The Mountain Hawks started the game's scoring in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single from Aidan Quinn. The Black Knights quickly responded, scoring two in the top of the second before adding four in the third to take a 6-1 lead.
After Zac Farrell lifted the Army lead to seven with a two-RBI double in the top of the fifth, Lehigh's offense got going in the seventh. RBIs from Ryan Cochran and Quinn cut the deficit to five before an Owen Walewander two-run homer brought the Mountain Hawks within three through seven innings. Despite the late comeback effort, Army's offense plated 12 combined runs in the eighth and ninth frames to ultimately seal the win.
Both Cochran and Trystan Crawford went 3-4 on the day while Quinn joined them with a 2-3 performance with two RBIs. Robbie Carvelli, Jasper Adelman, Walewander, and Silvio Giardina also recorded hits for Lehigh.
David Andolina, Declan Wilkes, Ralph Gariano, Tommy Lamar, Grady Golier, and Nick Hayden also saw action on the mound in addition to Mulvehill.
The Mountain Hawks will play a doubleheader against the Black Knights on Saturday, April 11 beginning at 12 p.m.
