KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Lehigh baseball played game two of its three-game series against the Davidson College Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at Atrium Health Ballpark, home of the Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. The Mountain Hawks fell by a score of 13-7.

Davidson (6-7) reliever Jacob Vokal earned the win, finishing the game with a stat line of two strikeouts with six hits, two earned runs, and two walks in 3.2 innings pitched. Cole Kochanowicz was credited with the loss for Lehigh (3-8) after allowing four earned runs in 1.1 innings. Davidson's Ivan Hoyt picked up the save.

Lehigh's offense got going quickly, scoring two runs in the top of the first from a Raffaele Rogers solo homer and a Trystan Crawford RBI single. Dom Patrizi delivered his first home run of the season in the top of the second to give the Mountain Hawks a 3-0 lead.

The Wildcats had a strong response in the bottom of the second, sending four runs past home plate to take a one-run lead. A Fredy Diaz double added another run for the Wildcats in the bottom of the third before RBIs from Patrizi and Rogers in the top of the fourth tied the game at 5-5. A Crawford sac-fly in the top of the fifth gave the Mountain Hawks a 6-5 advantage.

Lehigh held on to its lead until the bottom of sixth when Davidson plated four runs to take a 9-6 advantage. Jack Frankovic batted home Owen Walewander in the seventh to pull within two, but a three-run homer from Matt Manjooran lifted Davidson's lead to five. A sac-fly in the bottom of the eighth gave the Wildcats a six-run lead that would hold after retiring the side in the top of the ninth.

Walewander went 3-5 on the day with a double and a run scored. Rogers went 2-4 with two RBIs, a home run, and a run scored while Robbie Carvelli went 2-4 with a walk and a run scored. Patrizi, Aidan Quinn, Ryan Cochran, Crawford, and Frankovic also got hits for the Mountain Hawks.

Starting pitcher Cole Leaman, Sam Fairhurst, Ralph Gariano, and Declan Wilkes also appeared on the mound for Lehigh.

The Mountain Hawks will conclude the weekend series against Davidson on Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m.
