Lehigh Dominates Manhattan 20-3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh Mountain Hawks rolled past Manhattan, 20-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex.

"Today really reflected how we are 33 Strong! We had 15 contributors on the offensive end collecting 35 team points with 20 goals and 15 assists," said head coach Steph Lazo. "Defensively we played as a unit and produced 21 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. I am so proud of how we played as a team and look forward to continuing this moment this weekend!"

The Mountain Hawks had 11 different goal-scorers, with Molly Snow pacing Lehigh with a hat trick. Gracie Shoup, Shannon Nolan, Grace Martel, Chloe DelNegro, Nina DeNicola, Julia Miller and Ava Schulties added two apiece. Three Mountain Hawks recorded one goal, in Bella Brogan, Anna Rivetti and Cara Childs. Both Schulties and Childs recorded their first career goals in the game.

Lehigh shutout the Jaspers in the first quarter, taking an 11-0 lead into the second. The Mountain Hawks tallied four more goals in the half, maintaining a dominant 15-0 advantage at intermission.

Manhattan got on the board with two goals in the third, followed by one in the fourth quarter, as the Mountain Hawks claimed the 20-3 victory.

Mountain Hawks defenders also filled up the stats sheet. Hannah Cross led Lehigh with four caused turnovers, while fellow backline members Paige Hummel and Brynn Freeman added three and two, respectively. Hummel and Freeman headed Lehigh with five ground balls apiece.

Martel was the main draw-collector with four, while Morgan Lesiewicz recorded three.Â

Micaela Jennings and Jane Hughes split halves in goal, with Jennings starting. Both Lehigh goalkeepers recorded three saves. Manhattan's Sophie Pasnak made seven saves against Lehigh's commanding attack.
