BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In its final tune-up before Patriot League play begins this weekend, Lehigh fell to Saint Peter's 12-3 Wednesday at J. David Walker Field.

Senior Trystan Crawford paced the offense with two hits, but an early 5-0 deficit was too much to overcome.

A Bobby Lavely three-run home run to right put the Peacocks up 5-0 in the top of the third inning.

Lehigh pulled a run back on a sacrifice fly off the bat of first-year Max Dantoni, that scored first-year Silvio Giardina in the bottom of the third.

Sophomore Ian Wirtz tripled home Crawford in the fourth and then scored when junior Robbie Carvelli reached on an error to bring Lehigh within 6-3.

Saint Peter's added two runs in the fifth, sixth and ninth innings to account for the final margin.

First-year Ryan Holman started on the mound and was charged with five runs over 2.2 innings. He walked two and struck out four. First-year Declan Wilkes retired all six batters he faced over two scoreless innings.

Lehigh mustered six hits on the afternoon and was hurt by three errors in the field.

Luke Schwartz joined Lavely with three RBIs for Saint Peter's.

The Mountain Hawks open Patriot League play at home this weekend with a three-game series against Navy, beginning with a contest Friday at 3 p.m.
