Lehigh Defeats Saint Joseph’s 6-1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh Mountain Hawks defeated Saint Joseph's University, 6-1, Sunday morning at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center. With the win, Lehigh improves to 3-6 on the season, while the Hawks fall to 1-6.
"Proud of the grit we showed today," head coach Sophia Geier said. "From the first ball in doubles to the last point in singles, the team competed with intent. We stayed composed in big moments, responded when matches got tight, and committed to doing the little things well."
The match began with the Mountain Hawks claiming the doubles point with wins on courts 1 and 3. On Court 1, Maggie Forkner and Lena Dogadalski earned a 6-3 victory over Wiktoria Czerny and Victoria Tracey. On Court 3, with the doubles point on the line, Audrey Harrington and Skye Yonehara defeated Brooke Tackett and Claudia Perez-Garcia, 7-6.
Lehigh carried its strong play from doubles into singles, winning five of six matches. On Court 1, Forkner defeated Czerny, 7-5, 6-3, finishing the week 3-0 in singles play.
On Court 2, Giselle Vlassis earned a straight-set victory over Valeria Casusol, 6-4, 6-4, while Alice Ann Pantsari followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Victoria Tracey on Court 3.
Courts 4 and 5 also went to the Mountain Hawks, as Ronit Khromchenko and Alina Shyani each recorded singles victories to seal the match.

The Mountain Hawks will host the University of Delaware at noon Friday at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center. Lehigh will then travel to face the University of Pennsylvania at noon Saturday.
