Mountain Hawks Set to Travel to Nation’s Capital to Face American

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh is set to take on American University Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C. The Mountain Hawks enter the matchup 8-4 in Patriot League play and 12-10 overall, while the Eagles are 4-8 in league action and 6-17 overall. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., with the game streaming on ESPN+.
Last week, Lehigh went 2-0 with wins over Loyola and Holy Cross and now sits in third place in the Patriot League standings.
The Mountain Hawks opened the week with a 63-62 win Wednesday evening vs Loyola, as four players scored in double figures. Whitney Lind led the way with 17 points, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and knocking down three 3-pointers, while Katie Hurt added a career-high 10 points.
Lehigh capped the week with a 73-61 win over Holy Cross on Saturday. Belle Bramer scored a career-high 21 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from long range, as the Mountain Hawks finished the game shooting an efficient 44% from the field.
Lehigh is 8-4 in Patriot League play, sitting in third in the standings. Lily Fandre leads the league in scoring throughout Patriot League games, averaging 17.9 points per game. The Mountain Hawks also feature three of the league's top three-point shooters, Gracyn Lovette leads the Patriot League at 45.2 percent, Belle Bramer ranks second at 43.3 percent, and Fandre is shooting 40.4 percent in league play.
American is led by Molly Driscoll and Charlotte Tuhy. Driscoll averages a team-high 12.6 points per game, while Tuhy averages 11.1 points and leads the Patriot League with just over 11 rebounds per game. Lehigh has yet to face American this season. All-time, the Mountain Hawks are 19-34 against the Eagles and swept the season series last year.
