ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Patriot League play rolled on for Lehigh baseball on Sunday afternoon from Terwilliger Brothers Field in a doubleheader against the Navy Midshipmen. The Mountain Hawks fell 5-3 in the first game and rallied in the top of the ninth to win 7-4 in game two.

Navy (18-15, 9-6 PL) reliever Ryan Bibb earned the win for the Midshipmen, tossing 2.0 innings while striking out four in relief of starter Matt Archibald. Lehigh (15-14, 4-6 PL) starter Liam O'Hearen was credited with the loss after conceding the go-ahead run in the third inning.

Lehigh generated offense to start game one, putting two men on base despite not scoring any runs. O'Hearen had a great start to his day as well, retiring the side 1-2-3. The Navy offense broke through in the bottom of the second, as Henry Mitchell doubled to clear the bases and give the Mids a 3-0 lead. Navy added another run in the third on a wild pitch to lead 4-0.

The Mountain Hawks got on the board in the top of the fourth courtesy of an RBI single by Ryan Cochran. In the top of the sixth, a bases loaded walk and RBI groundout from Aidan Quinn brought Lehigh within one run. The Midshipmen then added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth and retired the side in the top of the seventh to secure the game one win.

Jake Whitlinger, Cochran, Justin Butler, Ryan Davis and Andrew Kohl recorded hits for the Mountain Hawks. Jack Hamilton and Marcus Danchision also appeared on the mound for Lehigh in game one.

First-year Cole Kochanowicz earned the win for Lehigh in game two, pitching the final 3.0 innings with three strikeouts and zero runs allowed. Navy reliever Kody Clancy picked up the loss after allowing the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning.

Lehigh's offense had a strong start to game two, as Trystan Crawford put the Mountain Hawks ahead with an RBI single in the top of the first. Raffaele Rogers extended that lead in the top of the third with a two-RBI double, setting the score at 3-0 through three innings.

The Mids scored their first run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Andrew Manning before taking a 4-3 lead on a Victor Izquierdo single and fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Mountain Hawks found themselves down to their last three outs headed into the ninth.

The Mountain Hawks loaded the bases thanks to a Davis single, hit by pitch and walk to start the inning. Quinn then singled home Bobby Kleckner, tying the game 4-4. The next at bat, Butler connected on a single to center field, sending Dom Patrizi and Whitlinger home to take a late lead. Another Crawford RBI single added an extra run of insurance, setting the score at 7-4 headed to the bottom of the ninth. Kochanowicz retired the Mids in four batters to seal the win for Lehigh.

Whitlinger, Quinn, Butler, Crawford, Owen Walewander, Rogers and Davis all tallied hits for Lehigh. Starter Julio Ermigiotti threw 5.0 solid innings with five strikeouts and only three hits. David Andolina and Danchision also appeared on the mound for the Mountain Hawks.

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Monday, April 7 for a doubleheader at Bucknell. Game one is set to begin at 12 p.m.
