BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Luke Stanich won the U20 national title at 65 kg to lead the Lehigh wrestling contingent at the 2025 CLAW U.S. Open Senior and U20 Nationals in Las Vegas this past weekend. Stanich compiled an 8-0 record, wrestling Saturday and Sunday to win the title and earn a spot at the best-of-three finals at the U20 World Team Trials May 30-June 1 in Geneva, Ohio.

Stanich was one of three wrestlers with Lehigh ties to place in either the Senior or U20 tournaments. On Sunday, he won bouts over high school standouts Daniel Zepeda and Bo Bassett to reach the finals, where Stanich defeated Arizona State first-year Pierson Manville by a 6-0 decision.

In the men's senior U.S. Open, Jordan Wood '22 reached the semifinals at 125 kg before dropping a 6-1 decision and then defaulting to sixth place.

Junior JT Davis competed at 92 kg and claimed an eighth place finish. Davis rebounded from a second round loss to win four consecutive consolation matches to earn his spot on the podium.

On the women's side, first-year Audrey Jimenez, who is a member of the Lehigh women's club program, won the U.S. women's senior national title at 50 kg, advancing to Final X, June 14 in Newark, N.J. where she will wrestle for a spot on the senior world team. This comes three weeks after Jimenez won her weight class at U.S. Women's Nationals in Spokane, Wash., earning Jimenez a spot on the U20 world team.
