Dow Named Faceoff Specialist of the Year, Four Earn First Team All-League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Four Mountain Hawks earned All-Patriot League honors on Monday, highlighted by senior faceoff specialist Sean Dow, who was named the Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Year.

Dow also received first-team All-League honors, joined by senior midfielder Dakota Eierman and junior defensemen Richard Checo and Luke McAuliffe.

This marks Dow's second consecutive season earning first-team honors and his first career Faceoff Specialist of the Year award. He is the first Mountain Hawk to win the honor since Mike Sisselberger '23 in 2023. The Simpsonville, S.C. native has had a dominant season, leading the Patriot League in faceoff win percentage (63.6%) and ground balls per game (7.50). Dow ranks sixth nationally in faceoff win percentage and has been a force in league play, winning 74.7% of his faceoffs. He posted a career-high performance at Navy, going 23-of-25 (92%) with 14 ground balls.

Dakota Eierman earned his first career All-League honor following a breakout senior season. The Kent Island, Md. native tallied a career-best 31 points, including 24 goals and seven assists. He ranks second on the team in scoring, trailing only junior attackman Andrew Kelly (35 points). Eierman has notched at least one point in 14 of Lehigh's 15 games this season, including 10 multi-point games. He posted a career-high five goals in the win over Navy.

Junior defender Richard Checo earned first-team honors for the third consecutive season. The Oakton, Va. native continues to be a disruptive force on defense, leading all of NCAA Division I in caused turnovers per game (3.23). He has totaled 41 caused turnovers this season and has recorded at least one in every game he has played, including 11 multi-turnover performances. Checo posted a season-high seven caused turnovers against Army and now has 144 career caused turnovers, the second-most in program history, trailing only Craig Chick's NCAA record 160. He also added 36 ground balls this season.

Luke McAuliffe earned All-League honors for the second straight year, and his first first-team selection. The Sykesville, Md. native has been a lockdown defender, routinely matched up against opponents' top offensive threats. McAuliffe ranks second on the team in caused turnovers (14) and has collected a career-high 24 ground balls. He recorded a career-best five caused turnovers in a win over Colgate. 

Fourth-seeded Lehigh will host fifth-seeded Colgate in the Patriot League quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Tickets can be purchased here.
