4/17/2025 3:57:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse will head north for a marquee matchup at Boston University Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Nickerson Field in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network. Saturday's game is a battle for second place as the Mountain Hawks (5-7) are 4-2 in Patriot League play and the Terriers are 8-4 (4-2 PL).

Lehigh is coming off of a 12-9 win over Colgate. Sophomore attackman Luke Winkler had a career-high day in the win, recording six points on five goals and an assist. Winkler has provided a spark for Lehigh as of late, recording four straight multiple-point games. The Ridgefield, Conn., native has recorded 20 points (15 G, 5A) this season after not recording a point last season.

First-year attackman Colin French (3G, 1A), senior midfielder Dakota Eierman (2G, 1A) and junior attackman Andrew Kelly (3A) also had multiple point games against the Raiders.

Senior faceoff specialist Sean Dow and junior defenseman Luke McAullfie both received Patriot League Honorable Mentions from the league on Monday. Dow went 16-of-23 from the stripe while corralling nine ground balls.

McAullife had a career-high five caused turnovers and two ground balls. McAullife also had a key takeaway right before half, leading to a Richard Checo goal that gave Lehigh the 7-6 halftime lead and the Mountain Hawks never trailed from there.

Senior goalkeeper Kasey Heath finished with 11 saves for his 12th straight game in double figures. Heath holds a 57.2% save percentage and has recorded 162 saves.

The Terriers most recently suffered an 11-9 loss to Lafayette on April 12. Boston University trailed by as many five in the second half and cut it to two, but it would not be enough. Jimmy O'Connell led the way with four goals for BU.

Timothy Shannehan has put up a team-high of 50 points on 25 goals and 25 assists. O'Connell is next with 49 points (27G, 22A).

Saturday's game will be a rematch of the 2024 Patriot League Championship, in which the Mountain Hawks defeated the Terriers 11-10. The last two games have been decided by one goal as Lehigh also beat Boston University 13-12 last season in overtime as Eierman netted the game-winning goal.

The Mountain Hawks trailed in both of those games last season, but were able to close out the half on a strong start.

Next  Lehigh will host Lafayette in The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, on Friday at 7 p.m. in the regular season finale.
