
Mountain Hawks Travel to Bucknell For Saturday Matchup

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's lacrosse continues league play with a matchup against Bucknell on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Lewisburg. The Mountain Hawks enter the game with a 2-5 record (1-1 PL), while the Bison are 3-4 (1-2 PL).
Lehigh suffered a 13-4 loss to No. 3 Army in its most recent contest on March 15. After a 2-2 tie in the first quarter, the Black Knights went on an 11-2 run to close out the game. Despite the loss, senior faceoff specialist Sean Dow had a career-best performance, winning 16-of-20 faceoffs while collecting nine ground balls.
Dow was named Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week on March 17 for the second consecutive week. The Simpsonville, S.C., native ranks ninth in NCAA Division I for faceoff win percentage (60.4%) and 14th in the nation for ground balls per game (6.71).
Junior defenseman Richard Checo had a standout performance, causing a season-high seven turnovers. Checo is currently second in the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.17). The Oakton, Va., native has caused 27 turnovers and picked up 20 ground balls in Lehigh's seven games this season.
First-year attackman Colin French was the lone Mountain Hawk to record multiple points against Army, scoring two goals - Lehigh's first two goals of the game.
Senior midfielder Dakota Eierman leads Lehigh offensively with 17 points (14 goals, 3 assists), followed by first-year attackman Luke Breslin with 15 points (8 goals, 7 assists). Senior attackman Andrew Kelly has tallied 14 points (10 goals, 4 assists).
Sophomore goalkeeper Kasey Heath recorded a game-high 12 saves against Army, marking his seventh straight game with double-digit saves this season. Heath ranks second in the nation in saves per game (14.43) and 18th in save percentage (57.4%).
Bucknell is coming off an 18-17 win over No. 15 Colgate, earning its first league win of the season. Michael Meyer had a game-high 10 points, recording five goals and five assists, while Connor Davis added seven points with three goals and four assists.
Lehigh defeated Bucknell 9-8 in their meeting last season on March 23. The Bison led 6-5 at halftime, but the Mountain Hawks closed the game with a 4-2 run.
Lehigh holds a 20-38 all-time record against Bucknell, but the Mountain Hawks have won the last five matchups.
