
Mountain Hawks Battle No. 3 Army on Saturday at Home

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's lacrosse will face its second consecutive ranked opponent when the Mountain Hawks host No. 3 Army on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Lehigh enters the game with a 2-4 record (1-0 Patriot League) after defeating No. 18 Navy, 13-8, in their Patriot League opener on March 7. Army is undefeated at 6-0 (2-0 PL).
Saturday's matchup will be the first ticketed game of the season.
In the win over Navy, the Mountain Hawks responded to an early goal by the Midshipmen with a dominant 6-0 run that put the game out of reach. Faceoffs were pivotal in the victory, with senior Sean Dow delivering a career-best performance. Dow went 23-of-25 at the stripe while also collecting 14 ground balls. He was named Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week on March 10 following his dominant display. Dow currently leads the league in faceoff win percentage and ground balls per game.
Senior midfielder Dakota Eierman also had a career-high outing, scoring five goals. Junior midfielder Peter Theodoropoulos contributed a career-best five points, with two goals and three assists.
Lehigh outshot Navy 51-31 and held a significant 38-11 edge in ground balls. Sophomore goalkeeper Kasey Heath continued his stellar play, finishing with 10 saves. Heath has recorded double-digit saves in each of his first six collegiate starts and currently ranks third in the nation in saves per game (14.83) and 12th in save percentage (58.9%).
Eierman leads the team with 16 points on 14 goals and two assists, while first-year attackman Luke Breslin has posted 15 points (8G, 7A), including a hat trick in the Navy game.
Army has been dominant to start the season, most recently defeating Holy Cross 17-4 on March 7. The Black Knights boast the nation's top defense, allowing just 4.67 goals per game. Offensively, Jackson Eicher leads Army with 37 points (16G, 21A), while Brayden Fountain is second with 34 points (24G, 10A).
Army's primary goalkeeper, Sean Byrne, has made 62 saves and holds a 73.8% save percentage.
The Black Knights lead the all-time series 29-11, with Lehigh's last victory over Army coming in 2022.
Next up, Lehigh will travel to Bucknell on March 22 for a 12 p.m. matchup.
