BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After a midweek break, Lehigh women's basketball returns to action on Saturday against American at 2 p.m. at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C. The Mountain Hawks are 18-4 (9-1 PL) and are riding a seven-game winning streak. American is 1-20 (1-9 PL). Saturday's game will air on ESPN+.

Lehigh last took the court on Feb. 1, picking up a 60-47 win over Holy Cross. Fifth-year Maddie Albrecht netted a game-high of 22 points after going 9-of-12 from the field. Albrecht was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Feb. 3 after averaging 26.5 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals while shooting 74% from the field in a 2-0 week for the Mountain Hawks.

Senior guard Ella Stemmer (12 points) also joined Albrecht in double figures. Stemmer is 25 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native would become the 24th player in program history to achieve the honor.

Albrecht and Stemmer are Lehigh's top leading scorers. Albrecht is averaging a team-high of 16 points per game, the fourth-most in the Patriot League. Stemmer is 10.8 points per game. Junior forward Lily Fandre (10.1 points per game) also averages double figures.

American is coming off of a 84-60 loss to Army on Feb. 1. Cecelia Kay led the way with a team-high 11 points. Kay leads the way for the Eagles with a team-high 11 points per game. The Eagles picked up their first win of the season on Jan. 29, defeating Lafayette 54-52.

If Lehigh wins on Saturday, it would be tied for the longest winning streak since the 2009-10 season when the Mountain Hawks went on an eight-game winning streak.

Saturday's game marks the second meeting of the season between the two teams. The Mountain Hawks pulled out a 61-55 victory over the Eagles on Jan. 22 after ending the game on a 6-0 run. Albrecht paced the way with a game-high 18 points. Sophomore guard Gracyn Lovette added 12 of her own points.

Lehigh is 19-38 all-time against American. The Mountain Hawks last swept American during the 2022-23 season.

Next up, the Mountain Hawks return home on Wednesday against Navy at 6 p.m. in Lehigh's Swifties and Swishes: Taylor Swift Night.
