2/6/2025 2:26:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse will face Fairfield at Rafferty Stadium on Friday at 5 p.m. for its first road test of the 2025 season. The Mountain Hawks are 0-1 this season after suffering a 10-6 loss to Rutgers in the season opener. Friday's game will mark the season opener for the Stags.

After scoring three goals in the first quarter, Rutgers held Lehigh to a goal in each of the last three quarters. The Mountain Hawks never found their rhythm offensively against the Scarlet Knights, committing 22 turnovers.

Lehigh also struggled to clear the ball, going 12-of-22. Junior attackman Andrew Kelly led the way with three points (2G, 1A). First-year attackman Luke Breslin also registered multiple points, tallying two goals in his collegiate debut.

Making his first collegiate start in net, sophomore goalie Kasey Heath tallied a game-high of 12 saves while also tallying a 54.5% save percentage. Junior defenseman Richard Checo looked the part once again, tallying a game-high of three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Senior faceoff specialist Sean Dow won the faceoff battle, going 11-of-20 at the stripe while picking up three ground balls.

The Stags finished 8-7 last season. Will Consoli returns as the top returner for Fairfield, registering the second-most points on the team in 2024 (26G, 14A). Consoli was one of two Stags to receive CAA preseason honors. Sophomore defenseman Julian Rasdossich was also named to the CAA All-Preseason team, registering 40 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers.

This will be the third straight season Lehigh plays Fairfield. Lehigh is 3-0 all-time against the Stags. The Mountain Hawks defeated Fairfield 8-7 last season.

Senior midfielder Dakota Eierman gave Lehigh the 8-5 lead with 2:05 remaining and the Stags would go on to score two quick goals to cut the Mountain Hawks lead to one. Lehigh was able to hold on for its first win of the 2024 season.

Next up, Lehigh returns home to host Cornell on Feb. 15 at 12 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
