Forkner Represents Lehigh At ITA Conference Masters Championships

SAN DIEGO – After winning the ITA Patriot League Masters singles tournament, junior Maggie Forkner represented Lehigh women's tennis at the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego on Thursday. Forkner went 1-1 in her two matches at the event.
"Great showing from Maggie at the ITA Masters," said head coach Sophia Geier. "She earned a very solid first round win against a top opponent and battled hard in her second match. I'm so proud of the way she competed and represented Lehigh. The level she is showing continues to raise the bar for our program."
Forkner matched up against Norfolk State's Yuliya Yurkova of Norfolk State in the first round. Forkner earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory to advance to the second round of the tournament.
Forkner's second round opponent was Yale's Shyla Aggarwal. Forkner narrowly dropped the first set 7-6 before losing the second set, ending her run in San Diego.
The Mountain Hawks will now set their sights on the spring season.
